Would You Really Like To Be Painting From Your Best Self?

Enough with the Ten Thousand Pinterest Boards

The Purge can help you get underneath habit, control and the need to make a “good” painting. But afterwards, another problem appears. How do you know which parts of what happened actually belong to you? Was that strange mark the beginning of something important — or simply an accident? Was returning to your familiar technique good judgement — or did you retreat into something you already know how to do? Was the discomfort telling you the work was wrong — or that you had moved beyond what was familiar? And how do you tell the difference between your voice, your style, your skill, habit, conditioning, perfectionism and the things you have learned to do because other people approve of them?

A Deeper Program for the Artist You Actually Are

Who is Waiting Patiently For You

If previous “find your voice” advice has left you more confused, one reason may be that so much of it stays focused on visual style rather than the person actually making the work.

I’m interested in going underneath that.

I could not have understood my own creative voice through art technique alone. Some of the most useful tools came from outside the usual art-school conversation — from personality, psychology, observation of process, and decades of actually living as a working artist.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer because artists are not all built the same way. We are not all size 8.

This program will approach artistic voice from the inside out: not by asking you to choose a style, but by helping you recognise the patterns, preferences, energies and recurring evidence that genuinely belong to you.

It is not therapy, and it is not mystical.

It is practical work aimed at helping you understand yourself well enough to make work that feels increasingly like your own.

THIS IS THE DEEPER WORK I AM BUILDING NOW

This is a substantial program for artists who sense that their real work has already appeared — perhaps only in glimpses — but who do not yet have a reliable way to recognise it, understand it and follow it.

It will not be another “find your style” course.

I’ll be teaching a practical method for gathering evidence from your own creative process, learning to analyse it, and becoming much better at recognising what is genuinely yours.

AM I QUALIFIED TO GO THIS DEEP WITH YOU?

My own lifelong interest in “knowing thyself” took me well beyond art technique.

Alongside nearly four decades as a professional narrative painter and art-business entrepreneur, I have pursued advanced study in MBTI, life coaching and a master’s degree in Jungian Analytical Psychology.

Those disciplines have given me additional tools for understanding why different artists need different things — and why “find your style” advice can only take us so far.

I am interested in helping artists work out what genuinely fits their nature, rather than forcing themselves toward an ideal that belongs to somebody else.

These tools have been incredibly useful in helping me understand what artists are naturally drawn toward — what I often think of as their own soul colour.

This is not one thing or another, and it is not mystical or nebulous.

It is something that can be worked through step by step until you begin to see much more clearly what belongs to you, what does not, and what direction might give you much greater peace of mind in your creative life.

Who I'm Building It For

Artists and Creatives at Many Levels Asking: “Where in All of This Am I?”

That might be a highly experienced professional who has become trapped inside competence and success. It might be an emerging artist who has ten thousand exciting directions and no idea which one is really theirs. Or it might be someone who has painted quietly for years but still finds themselves changing direction, second-guessing the work, comparing themselves with others, or struggling to develop a cohesive body of work. You may already have glimpsed something genuinely yours — but then painted over it, tidied it up, dismissed it, or retreated into something safer and more familiar. The circumstances may differ, but the deeper question is the same:

How do I recognise what is genuinely mine — and learn to follow it?

What Will It Cost?

I Can’t Stand Landing Pages with No Price Guide, So Here Is the Current Thinking

I’m still building the program, so the final structure and price are not locked.

The current plan is for a complete self-guided version in approximately the US$497–697 range, with optional higher-level guided versions for artists who want direct involvement from me.
Yes there will be payment plans :-)

No obligation. No launch theatrics.

If that range and this kind of work sound relevant to you, you can put your hand up below and I’ll let you know when it is ready.

I expect any live guided version involving me directly to have limited places simply because of the time involved.

Yes, I'm Interested

Leave your email below (Register) and I’ll let you know when the Voice program opens. This does not commit you to buying anything. It simply tells me that this is something you would genuinely like to hear about while I build it.
